How do I stop Kodi caching?
Video buffering issues in Kodi can be frustrating and have a negative impact on the quality of live video streaming. There are several ways to stop and prevent Kodi from caching.
Optimize Firestick: explained
The Amazon Fire Stick is basically an inexpensive Android tablet that doesn’t have a screen and runs on a custom version of the Android operating system known as Fire OS. So, the Fire Stick has some physical limitations on the amount of memory available for streaming movies and TV shows. Therefore, it is a good idea to regularly browse the Fire Stick / FireTV box and optimize it with the program (Clean Master).
Speed test
Before you do anything, run a speed test to see how your internet is performing. Some connections are too slow to play high-quality videos without buffering. If you want to stream in HD quality it is recommended to be at least 5 Mbps.
Like the phone, the Fire Stick gets stuck in little “temporary” files that are never deleted by the system, so we have to delete them ourselves using these steps.
How to optimize a fire stick
1) Remove additional applications from the Fire Stick by going to Applications from the FireStick main menu. Then select the application you don’t need and hit Uninstall.
2) Install Clean Master for TV on your Fire Stick and use it to increase the available “RAM” of your Fire Stick, shutting down applications and processes that are using resources in the background without any benefit to the user.
3) Increase the distance from the TV to the Fire Stick. Why? Because electromagnetic interference can cause the WiFi of the Fire Stick to confuse. So get a $ 5 HDMI cable that’s about 6 feet long (2 meters) and use it to keep your Fire Stick away from your TV to prevent EM interference.
FireStick and Fire TV optimization effects
Once you’ve optimized your FireStick, you’ll see decreased Kodi buffering. In addition, you’ll see Kodi and our builds’ greater ability to connect to streaming sources when you select a stream in a TV add-on like Kodi, Mobdro, and a few other apps we add. Menu latency is usually significantly reduced after device optimization. Another way to significantly reduce buffering is to install a VPN, IPvanish is the best right now.
THE FOLLOWING STEPS APPLY TO (BUFFERING INSIDE THE KODI)
Limit the number of devices active on your network.
Multiple devices used on the same Internet network consume that network’s bandwidth and cause buffering, especially if the router cannot handle the heavy traffic load. When streaming video, please make sure internet use is restricted on different devices.
Lower the video quality in the settings.
Lowering the quality of your videos helps reduce bandwidth and buffering. If you use third-party video streaming software or services, change the video quality through the settings menu.
Consider using a wired internet connection.
Wireless internet connections are more prone to interference from problems with signal, frequency, and physical obstructions such as walls and furniture. Try switching to a wired connection to eliminate buffering issues.
These are just a few suggestions for eliminating buffering. Try them out and if you’re still having buffering issues, we can give you other suggestions. Feel free to comment at any time.
In this article, we’re going to go over some actions you can take to improve the performance of your Fire TV Stick to keep it running like new again. Many of these enhancements will have a huge impact on each other, but taken together, they provide a significant increase in power and can make Firestick run faster.
Uninstall unused applications and add-ons
It may seem obvious, but apps and add-ons take up memory space and can run in the background, draining resources. Uninstall any apps you don’t use and remove any Kodi addons you don’t use. To uninstall Fire TV apps, follow these steps:
Hold down the Home button.
Select Settings> Applications
Select Manage Installed Applications
Select the application you want to uninstall
Click Uninstall and then Uninstall again to confirm
Note that some applications come pre-installed with your Fire TV and cannot be uninstalled. We’ll show you what to do with them.
Force stopping unused applications
Unused apps that don’t have an uninstall option, or apps that you want to keep but just don’t use very often, can be stopped so they no longer run in the background. To do this, follow the exact same steps as uninstalling the application as described above. This time, instead of selecting Uninstall, select Force Stop. It may not be clear at first that something has happened, but the app will no longer burden Fire Stick.
Clear data and cache
In the same menu where the Uninstall and Force Stop options are, you will also see Clear Data and Clear Cache. You can use them in almost any app, whether you use it or not, but it’s definitely worth doing in apps that you don’t use that often. Follow these steps in the order they appear: Clear Data then Clear Cache. It will also prevent forced applications from reloading automatically.
Turn off features you are not using
Hold down the Home button.
Select Settings> Applications
Select the Collect application usage data option and select Disable
Select Prime Photos, turn off Allow guest calls, and turn off access to Prime Photos, assuming you don’t use the feature.
Select App Store. Here you can turn off Automatic Updates, which downloads and installs new versions of your apps in the background. However, remember that you should still update your apps regularly to receive important security updates. We recommend that you disable this option only temporarily to improve performance if necessary. You can also squeeze a bit more performance by turning off in-app purchases and notifications.
Disable data monitoring
Data monitoring can be a useful tool to make sure you don’t exceed your ISP’s monthly data quota, but tracking downloads and uploads uses a small amount of system resources that could be better applied elsewhere. To disable data monitoring, follow these steps:
Hold down the Home button.
Select Settings> Preferences
Select data monitoring
Click Data monitoring to turn it off
Application notifications
Not only can app notifications be annoying, but they have little effect on performance. Fire TV allows users to disable notifications completely or on a per-app basis. Access the notification settings by following these steps:
Hold down the Home button.
Select Settings> Preferences
Choose your notification settings
Enable Keep clicking on it, or click Application notifications to disable notifications from individual applications.
Another way to speed up the stick of fire
Use Vpn, ISPs are known to throttle their customers’ bandwidth for a number of reasons, but many especially frown at Kodi users, whether they are used for legitimate business or not.
To work around this issue, we recommend that you connect your Amazon Fire TV Stick to a VPN. Short for Virtual Private Network, VPN encrypts all internet traffic of the device and routes it through an intermediary server in the location of your choice.
